Palace treat – Homemade burger buns

Everybody is spending more time in the kitchen since the lockdown. We are not always in the mood for a full meal so here is a quick recipe for a delicious burger.
Homemade burger buns recipe:
Preparation
time: 2 hours 30 minutes
Cooking time: 15 – 20 minutes
Ingredients:
- 1 packet instant yeast
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 360 ml fresh warm milk
- 1 egg
- 60 grams melted butter
- 3 cups white bread flour
- A pinch of salt
Instructions:
Step 1: Mix the warm milk, melted butter, sugar, egg and yeast in a small bowl.
Just for extra information, the yeast needs a warm environment of the milk and
butter in order to ferment, and the sugar to feed on. Mix until it turns foamy
and set aside for a while.
Step 2: Place your flour and pinch of salt in a mixing bowl and once your yeast mixture is foamy enough, mix it in the flour and knead for about six minutes or use an electric stand mixer if available. If not, hands can also do. Mix until you get an elastic and soft texture.
Step 3: Remove from mixing bow, then place on a counter with flour and knead again for about three minutes then place it in an oiled bowl and cover with lid and let it rise for about one hour.

Step 4: Work it out and shape your buns.
Step 5: Place your buns in a greased pan and cover with a cloth for an hour and they should rise and double in size.
Step 6: You should then apply an egg wash (1 tablespoon of milk mixed with an
egg) for a golden-brown finish and sprinkle sesame or poppy seeds and bake for
15 minutes at 190 Degree Celsius.

Sauces for hamburger:
I use tomato sauce, mayonnaise and chutney, all mixed together. You may add cheese, mushrooms, lettuce and crispy onions onto the burger for tastier burger.
